The Thing Is a supporting character created by CornWielder. They currently serve as a janitor going around and cleaning the universe with omnipotent powers. They are the de facto ruler of The Void of Nonexistence.
Appearance[]
The Thing takes the form of a standard greyish tabby household cat, shadowed. Their nose is brownish-peachish and their body is streaked by darker grey linings. Their eyes possess a blank stare and are pale-yellow.
Personality[]
The Thing keeps a nonchalant demeanor, keeping steady in battle. Though, when provoked enough, can cause collateral damage to The Things enemies and allies, lashing out indiscriminately at whoever opposes them. The Thing keeps a seemingly steady and fasted mentality, with seemingly little care for negative outcomes. This mentality is no easy thing to break, as The Thing keeps them self in check all the time. Antagonizing The Thing is not of any help, as The Thing shares no malicious intent and keeps a straight-paced attitude towards others, even making kind requests to other people despite the rivalry or enemy-ship.
When aggravated or The Thing finally snaps, they can and will ravage upon anything, usually causing devastating attacks to enemies, and to an extent, allies. The only way The Thing can be stopped is by being neutralized or coming to their senses, with the former quite literally being improbable and/or impossible. It is best not to hurt The Things mentality in anyway to avoid causing said accident above to avoid shedding blood. Upon encountering graphic imagery, The Thing can indeed feel some mental anguish, but these effects are nowhere to be seen in the heat of battle nor in the time being.
Abilities/Feats[]
- Extreme speed - The Thing is extremely quick, and can run up to speeds of atleast 300 mph. This is not often used because of their next skill.
- Advanced teleportation - The Thing has been seen to have been teleporting around. This was first shown in their debut in Version 15, where they appeared on the moon. This also happens when The Thing is reintroduced in Volume 2, by forcibly cramming themself into the worlds data.
- Sub-atomic awareness - The Thing, shown in Version 21.5, was able to dodge The Moons blast and debris by dodging them at a molecular level, even going as far as to take a selfie.
- Enhancement - Shown during The Things rampage against Bluescrn, they were seen being able to coat their hands with a red/black substance, acting like a armor or a brass knuckle-like adhesive.
- Disembodiment - The Things arms are a separate entity, meaning that The Thing can use and move these arms at will, even separating the hands and The Thing with an infinitely wide steel wall. This goes the same for Mauricio.
- Advanced copying - The Thing, shown in Volume 3.75, was able to copy Carhells laser beam blast, even using enhancement to make it red and dealing more damage to them.
- Laser beam blast - During the battle against Mauricio, The Thing was able to do the same laser beam technique as Mauricio, which would char the floor into a pitch black. As said above, The Thing was able to copy Carhells laser beam, even making a more destructively potent one and shattering The Syncronizers barrier. These two lasers are completely different.
- Spacial manipulation - The Thing was able to re-enter Volume 2 by forcefully manifesting themself into the volume, though this would lead to The Things appearance being heavily distorted upon entering.
- Advanced awareness/Time manipulation - In Volume 2, where Mauricio accidentally "kills" The Thing, they rewind time, but in the wrong place. The Thing was aware due to their superiority, thus implying they have better time manipulation skills.
- Immortality - Though it is not true immortality, The Thing can be damaged but not killed. Examples are when Mauricio accidentally "kills" The Thing with a cannon, and when Carhell pierces The Things arms, causing them to bleed. It is assumed that The Thing can be "immobilized" by normal firearms.
- Guinevere - In the events of Sub-Volume 3.375, The Thing chanted a phrase, which listed the name "Guinevere." Taking the form of bright crimson "lines" which are actually rope-like bindings, The Thing can use them to put what is known as a "setting" onto an enemy. The setting can range from constricting movement and slicing to matter to abstract concepts such as erasing and "unlocking." The range or extent of Guinevere is completely dependent on the current frame of the version, meaning if the line takes up an entire chunk of the image, the part that was affected (be it an area or an enemy) can fall under the effects of Guinevere. Unlocking and locking is a completely different story, however. The Thing has placed a seal after the events of Volume 3 that only unlocks manually, permanently restricting power output. If The Thing uses Guinevere setting to "unlock" the power output, it can be so dangerous as to destroy a few planets with one attack as long as The Thing has no allies to worry about hitting. The Thing has "unlocked" during the events of Volume 4.

WRITER LOG----CODE_: T=THE THING_MISSION:4515*-
TIME: 64:257:XXXX BEFORE THE COLLAGLE PHENOMENON.
I was born somewhere, I have no idea where, what, anything I don't know. All I know is that I wasn't birthed by a loving mother or adoptive father, I just appeared in a dark, dark, VERY DARK, place. I somehow knew it was a pitch black cube that had a 1000 meter area. Well, I could see infact. There I met my little sibling or twin, Mauricio. We both didn't have hands or anything else, we were just house cats, be it I with a soulless stare, or Mauricio born with a banana on their head. I guess writing my own biography up there was pretty douche of me, but seriously though, I have absolutely no recollection of ANY memory I have. I knew that Mauricio was my little twin, and I needed to treat him as well as I can. I thought I could scale the walls with my mouth, but the walls hurt my teeth like I bit my tongue (it stung REAL bad). I ended up seeing a slight crack through the wall. I still wonder what that is to this day.
I eventually got out by waking up with Mauricio in whatever arms i could even conjure up. We were in this cool bronze olympian city. It literally looked prehistoric (dont ask me how i knew that) as if I had warped into the past. It was full of others just like me and Mauricio, the posters, the guards, and even peasants. I was also a peasant, but looking around was better than some shoddy mansion. Everything was just-so OLD. I eventually grew up, learning to defend myself and Mauricio, who could barely speak at the time. Mauricio was lucky to get an education, unlike me, but he got bullied a lot by other children, be it being pelted by rocks or laced with a spider in his OJ. When I finally turned into a teenager (or when i felt like one), I eventually signed up to the middle class, which has a nicer life style and fewer bullies for Mauricio. It costed an arm and a leg (literally the cost), but it was worth it nonetheless. Everything after that was a stormed blur. Just me and Mauricio learning arts, doing crafts, inventing, or even fighting. Me and Mauricio (with a slight age difference) joined The Court as lowly officers. It wasn't too hard, we somehow finally got 2 hands from some magic (I didn't think anything of it until i came to here.) and only the training was hard. Eventually I secured a place as a royal guard of someone, and everything got much better. I dealt with people easily, got recognised by the public, and some asked for autographs.
Mauricio wasn't fortunate; his client and him were gravely injured by a corrupt Bearer of a Letter, an even better rank, and was fired on the spot. He eventually became a rogue, and we slowly grew a part, acting as 2 sides of 2 coins. He descended while I ascended. I kept on trying to help him with his loss, but he lashed out on me wildly, eventually scarring me on the eye. The scar is completely gone, but the pain it bears still lefts its mark, huh. We both eventually decided we would call eachother when we need eachother, so it was settled. We don't love eachother because we need eachother, we need eachother because we love eachother. My love came from the fact we were twins and we took eachother in, but Mauricios came from my help. He desperately suppressed his emotions, acting as a freeloading "villian" to others. Not even I know what his role is.
So, about The Court, there are 3 classes.
- Lower ones.
2. Middle grounds.
3. Higher ups.
With the higher the better (obviously). They all have subgroups with the Lower Ones having the Officers, Lieutenants, and Guardians. The Middle Grounds had the Captains and Leaders, and the Higher Ups had the Overtures and the Letters.
Without much remembrance, I got the role as a higher up and as a Letter, the highest possible rank at the moment. My letter was T=The Thing. People called me The Thing, and that was my name ever since. Mauricio got his name from writing eerie graffiti. He tried spelling Monstrous, but accidentally rushed from being chased by a Guardian and accidentally wrote Maristrior. The Guardian who saw it had a weird accent, which in the logs, made them say "Marisior," which others thought it was a bad attempt at saying Mauricio, which was also the name of a local artist, Maurizio. The graffiti washed away, and in the threat list had the highest one (he did heinous things that I didn't mention earlier), a Letter. Though, these Letter ranks are different, they are for criminals. His letter was M=Mauricio, and then was feared by hundreds, if not, thousands. Though, it would be very easy to capture him and claim my reward, I feel that would sever our twin-ship completely. The Court decided to let me go because I was apparently "too strong and had relations to pure evil." Mauricio didn't come back to our secret meeting spot, and that was when I realized he took for another place, Glagworld. I would obviously try and search for him, but we both realized we would come for each other in desperate times (quite literally), so that wasn't much of a problem. I decided I would join in on the fun, but now I got lost. Still writing this in space, I'll go to this "moon" because I just felt a rift appear. I trained myself pretty well after I was let go, so I'm sure I won't have trouble dealing with whatever happened.
Subject T-009-045, Letter T=The Thing. Mysterious, taking on the appearance as a standard house cat. Only known "relatives" are Threat Letter M=Mauricio, though Letter=J could also be a possible relative. (unknown) Their powers range from object distortion, reality warping, omnipotence, teleportation, emittion of radiation, de-aging, atomic interference, and much more. Due to an "absolutely stupid idiot" letting The Thing go from duty, we have decided to retrieve The Thing to use along with Letter K=The █████.
We have sent Subject O-██4-█54, Letter C=The coolest, named Carhell (pronounced Carl, named Carhell due to complications with a co-worker named █████), an enigmatic compound of enphosian sludge, ferofluid, pig and cow blood, and ███████. Although the previous incident that concluded with over ████ deaths would never let them redeem themself, we have decided to release Carhell to retrieve Subject T-009-045. We also will be letting them "go wild" on this mission, though we will keep a tighter leash to what Carhell can or cannot do, with other warnings.
Object █-█1█-890, also known as Letter S=The Synchronize, will be deployed on this same mission. The Synchronize or The Synchronizer (whom we will now refer to as simply S)'s main ability is to "synchronize" with the user, granting them immense capabilities. Giving this to the average giggler will allow them to comfortably hold a large table, giving this to a rat will let them hold a small weight, and an ant a pair of scissors. Though, these immense powers come with a backfire known as "corrosion" to the scientists at our labs. Corrosion happens when the user undergoes extreme psychological damage, warping them into a creature named "corroded's". Corroded's hold the estimated multiplied power of over 10 times its average. It has been further studied that they also retain the negative aspects of their personality, whether it be the bloodlust of them, the stupidity, or cunning intellect. The form also depends on how they had corroded, being that if it was from sadness, their appearance would be more "depressing" to the eye. Although Carhell can undergo extreme psychological damage when █████ is mentioned in a negative manner, we trust that The Thing does not know about this, as to Carhell he does not under-estimate The Things destructive capabilities. Carhell extreme egotistical and narcissistic behavior will make us safely confirm that they do not undergo corrosion, therefore destroying the leash we have casted.
We advise all scientists with a taser, gun, whatever the hell, to promptly use up all of your ammunition on The Thing, even going as far as to shoot its "corpse" when done, just to make sure that The Thing is completely immobilized. Although this is extremely improbable,
HAVING THEM DEAD MAKES IT EASIER FOR US TO USE THEM.
Trivia[]
- The Things character trope is meant to be "the ass-pulling character," meaning that The Thing is meant to be unfairly unstoppable, balanced in the weirdest ways and always has one extra trick up their sleeve to always win.
- Despite Mauricio's first appearance stating they are The Things equal, it was later changed to be younger twin for more world building.
- The Things ability "Guinevere" is a direct nod to the name of the wife of King Arthur, Guinevere, though the ability itself has no correlation other than the name.
- The Thing canonically has boss music.
- “Simon”s dog was originally suppose to be The Thing but heavily veiled in shadow. Then plot came in and nobody died.
